 Game Description

Manufacturer's Description
Based on a wildly popular Japanese animation and comic of the same name, Fullmetal Alchemist and the Broken Angel traces the journey of two brothers on a life-changing quest.

Edward Elric is a genius alchemist. He and his younger brother Alphonse tried to raise their mother from the dead, a forbidden act that cost Ed his left leg and Al his entire body. Immediately after the accident, Ed was able to sacrifice his right arm to save Alphonse's soul and transplant it into a suit of armour. The action begins as the two brothers are headed toward Central City in search of the "Philosopher's Stone," the only object that can return them to their natural states.

Ed and Al are on the train with their bodyguard Armstrong, when a sudden explosion rocks the car, and a radical group hijacks the train. The three of them are soon embroiled in an all-out brawl against the hijackers. But Edward has more than a few tricks up his sleeve with a variety of alchemy skills - he can transmute everyday objects into powerful weapons. With nimble footwork and combo attacks, the trio soon overtakes the hijackers and searches the rest of the train for the leader.

The hijackers are all falsely accused military men who are escaping to a town named Hiessgart. When the brothers corner the hijackers' boss on the roof of the train, a brawl ensues and a shocking new twist is revealed, sending the brothers askew on a different adventure.

The key to gameplay is transmuting objects that litter the landscape everything from trees to trashcans into powerful weapons. Players can also order Alphonse to protect Edward or tackle nearby enemies.

Features:

  • Explore the massive world of Central City and try to become a National Alchemist master
  • Use your alchemy powers strategically to deal with enemies - Create a wall out of air, or a spike of rock from dirt - your imagination & skills are the only limits
  • Build up your fighting skills and integrate them with alchemy powers -- turning a dining cart into a machine gun and shooting enemies, for example
  • High-quality 3D animation brings the 2D anime characters to life

When I just started to play I was already addicted to the game. The bosses look good(exept for that ugly boss that cammila makes in the end) and the story is perfect. The best part has to be the fighting style. Its very easy to fight any enemy but some need a certain type of weapon to do great damage and almost all the bosses don't require a complicated plan. Sometimes you might get lossed(you might get lossed a lot in the cave and in New Hiessgart Castle) but you normally find your way out in 10 minutes. All around this game is very fun and very addicting and it is my favorite game right now and I reccomend this game to all Full Metal Alchemist fans out there.

He seems to have the program confused with somethign else.
Imagine a world in which Alchemy is not only possible, but used frequently. Alchemy, though, is a science, and with all sciences there are laws that must be followed. Welcome to the anime, Full Metal Alchemist. The story begins about two brothers, Alphonse (left) and Edward (right) Elric. Ever since they were young they had practiced the science of alchemy. You follow their journey of being alchemists and their quest to regain that which they have lost.

Their father was a well recognized alchemist, which is probably where their knack for it comes from. However, when they were young their father left, and they remained in the care of their mother. One day their mother died, and in their innocence and ignorance, they attempted what was forbidden, human alchemy.

What happened next, they were obviously not prepared for, and in the aftermath the brothers lost more than just their mother. In the freak accident Alphonse loses his body, and in a moment of panic Edward ties his brother's soul to a piece of armor. Edward himself loses an arm and a leg, a costly reminder of what has happend.

The story begins and details the brother's journey to find a alchemy amplifier so that they may return to their normal bodies.

I, myself, am addicted to the game.. I'll admit, it wasn't very long, but that doesn't mean it wasn't fun. The plot is good, the fighting style exciting. If you're the kind of person who enjoys strategy games, but doesn't like spending hours on one problem, this is the game for you.

Full metal alchemist is actually about 2 brothers, called Edward & Alphonse, who are learning to use alchemy (transforming objects, for example changing concrete floor into a spear, or dust into a gun). The two brothers attempt to revive their mother using alchemy but it goes wrong and an engulfing light takes Ed's leg and Al's body because of an alchemy law known as equivalent trade. In desperation Ed fixs his brother's soul to a suit of armour. Ed then has his friends' Gran to build him an automail(robotic limbs). The two then set out on a quest to get back their orginal bodies.

Amazing Game! , March 2, 2005
A Kid's Review
More for you hack and slash hack and slash people. It's not like there's no strategy in it though. Alchemy is needed is various places, and it's always useful to know how to beat a boss character without losing 10's of elixers.
The storyline in itself is awesome. If you're not into the game within the first hour or so, you probably won't like the rest of it. The only thing I might warn you about is the cave. If you're hating the game because of the cave (you'll see what I'm talking about later) don't quit. This place was the most frustrating place out of the whole game for me, so don't feel bad if you need a loooooong break when you're stuck inside it.
The gripes I have about the game though... It was a bit too short. It took me 12 hours to finish the whole game. Of course, I probably skipped 100's of treasures, and I got horrible alchemist levels...
The storyline more than makes up for it though. If you don't at least feel like crying at the end of the game... were you watching the whole time?

Overall this was an awesome awewsome game that everyone who's a FMA fan and everyone who just wants an amazing game to play, that doesn't involve incredulous amounts of strategy.
...Keep in mind that this game is rated T for Teen for language and suggestive themes among other things. Emphasis on the suggestive themes on one of the costumes one of the people wear.

an excellent new game , December 20, 2004

It's back, not many people know what this is all about and why it is so amazing, this is a manga (japanese comic, sometimes found under anime manga aswell), collection i bought about 4 years ago when i went to japan, tokyo (you should visit it has got a lot of high tech things there and new technology).

Anyway it was one eeeeeeexcellent! comic and still is, it is about an orphan boy attacked by these strange creatures, he had his arm bitten off and was dying because of blood loss. A big metal robot who was an alchemist (a medicine maker type of thing) came and created a metal arm for this orhpan and this metal arm gave him powers. There were problems around his hometown so him and his alchemist robot went to solve this problem.

I got this game about 3 months ago because one of my friends went to tokyo and i told him to phone me about what games there were as soon as he said there was metal alchemist on the new shelf i told him to buy it. When he came back i sraight away played...

It is an amazing game and i will do my own little review on it for you:

Graphics; 9.5/10 amazing visual effects and great coulor quality with excellent graphics although the reason I gave it 9 instead of ten is that there are somtimes gam glitches i.e you may get stuck in a corner of a wall for a short time. But i think this is because this game is running on an English console but the game is japanese.

Sound effects; 10/10 the sound effects when you are shooting guns to when you are just walking are extremely realistic sounds. When the fighting begins, whoooaaaaaa mama!!! the nusic is from a japanese origin and just simple action music it is amazing.

Game play: 9/10 These game is not a pick up and play game as there are many different powers and techniques as you get different ways you can place your techniques on buttons of your choice however, when you get down to it and you are used to the buttons it becomes quite enjoyable...

Game time-span: 10/10 this game is a very long game but it is not tiresome as you get new things to do everytime you unlock new objects and once you complete the game there are more characters to play with and there is always a different ending to the game. There are also final game cheats that let you do almost anything you want in the game...
