Game Modes:
Baseball
In this mode you play golf and use baseball rules. Your team gets hits and runs based on how you score on each hole. The rules are as follows:l
Par = Single
Birdie = Double
Eagle or Better = Home Run
Bogey = Out
Double Bogey = Double Play
Triple Bogey = Triple Play
This is a great game mode for beginners to play against seasoned pros. Makes you feel a lot better to say that you only got beat by 3 runs rather than your ass kicked by 12 strokes.
Bingo Bango Bongo
For many people, the most frustrating part of golf is putting. You can do everything right up until that point...beautiful drive, nice approach shot, be putting for birdie, then fall apart with a three putt and end up with a bogey. In this game mode though, the end result isn't the only thing that matters.
Two to four players can get it on in Bingo Bango. There are three ways to score in this mode, and golfer with the most points at the end of the round is the big winner. The points are awarded as follows:
Be the first player to reach the green and you will get a point added to your Bingo bank.
Be the closest player to the pin when reaching the green and you will get a point added to your Bango bank.
Be the player with the lowest number of strokes on a specific hole and you will get a point added to your Bongo bank.
Vegas
Vegas is a team-based game for four people. It’s played like a regular stroke-based game, except at the end of each hole, your team’s scores are combined, with the lowest score becoming the first digit, and the highest becoming the second. The team with the lowest combined score wins the hole, and is awarded money in the amount of the difference between the two teams’ scores.
Casino
Like to gamble? Then this is your game. In Casino, you have to ante up a buck for every shot you take. At the end of the hole, the player with the least number of strokes takes the pot, although you can fold at any time if you’re scared of losing your shirt. Just remember: this is golf, so bluffing won’t do you a whole lot of good here.
Pick Up Sticks
This two-player only mode gives you the opportunity to really kick your opponent when they're down. The winner of each hole gets to take a club from the loser. Want to really mess with him? Start by taking away his driver. After a few holes, it really starts to get fun. Of course, if you lose a hole, your opponent can choose to get one of the stolen clubs back, or if they're feeling really vindictive, they can opt to steal one of yours out of spite.
My One and Only
If the frustration of having your clubs taken away from you one-by-one is too much, you might want to give this mode a try. This mode, for one to four players, has you playing through a course with only one club and one putter. You get to choose which club you use, but pick wisely, because once you're on the course, you're stuck with it. Fortunately so is everyone else, so you won't look like a total idiot when you keep missing the green from ten yards with your choice of club that seemed like a good idea at the start of the game. A little tip for you, it's not very easy to chip, or simply hit off the fairway with a driver.
Time Attack
Golf would be the best sport ever if you didn't have to wait for the old fogie in front of you to take 10 minutes to line up his shot. To cure this, we've gone ahead and kicked the old geezer off the course in Time Attack mode. It's not the quality of your game that counts here; it's simply how quick you can get through the course. The timer begins as soon as the player addresses the ball and stops as soon as the club makes contact with it...this continues until the ball finds the hole. So take as many strokes as you like, don't aim, don't worry about hitting the water, just worry about getting there as fast as possible. |
