RULE OF THUMB (MASTERING THE SWING)
Learn to master the swing and all of the advanced control. At its core, the swing is easy to pick up and learn, but mastering the technique will take some time and practice. It is important to master the basics.

If you are new to the Tiger Woods PGA TOUR® series we highly recommend you take advantage of our tutorial. Access Play Now (or Scenarios via the Game Modes option) and play through all 30 scenarios setup to help prepare you for all shot types. Shaping shots and utilizing your Power Boost and Spin Control are musts for shooting low scores. Find the technique that works best for you. Remember, you can use any golfer to earn money.

PUT YOUR GAMEFACE ON
After learning the ropes, it’s time to start your career. Proceed to the all-new GameFace feature and customize your golfer from head to toe. No longer choose a face/body style by number. With the most innovative Create-A-Character offered to date, you now have the advanced tools you need to create yourself (or any character imaginable) from head to toe.

Don’t change, but rather customize your character's physical appearance with over 25 sliders used to finitely morph and scale your face structure all the way down to your shoe size. Access the Pro Shop to outfit apparel, equipment and accessories. Further personalize your character by customizing their animation set(s) and use our paint tools to create your own logos/tattoos.

PACE OF PLAY
Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 2004 revolves around making money. All game modes you play (with the exception of Practice) earn you cash, and at the completion of every round you will be routed back to the pro shop. If you’re not sure where to start, try out the World Tour. The difficulty ramps as you play through, but with increased difficulty comes increased purses. For the hardcore golf enthusiasts, try out the PGA TOUR Season Mode. Although this mode takes a bit longer to progress, it is also worth the most money. It is also worthwhile to mention that the more you win the more difficult the events become.

MONEY MANAGEMENT
With over 1,000 items to purchase in the pro shop in addition to attributes, it is important to spend your money wisely. Your attributes are the most important asset in character building but at a point it becomes more worthwhile to purchase equipment before raw attributes. Take advantage of the special Pro Shop offers and don’t forget to wager on your World Tour matches (this is a good way to make a little extra dough).

CHECK THE PRO SHOP DAILY
With 15 new items put on sale every day, it is important to check back daily. At 50% off, these will be well worth your frequent checking. If you have yet to unlock the offered item(s), be sure to complete the task at hand. Any time a new item is unlocked, it is flagged as such and remains that way in your personal Pro Shop until you highlight the item.

CUSTOMIZATION IS THE KEY
Equipment, apparel and accessories are key to building up your character's attributes. Buy early and buy often. Remember, you can always sell your old products back to the pro shop (of course you’ll have to take a bit of a loss). Let the Pro Shop drive your pace of play. If you’re not sure where to go next, peruse through and find the item that you desire in the Pro Shop, and see how much cash you need and/or what is required of you to unlock the item(s).

STAY AWARE OF UPCOMING REAL TIME EVENTS (RTE)
These events can be your ticket to success. With many desired Pro Shop items only unlocked via completion of these events, as well as large purses, you want to be sure not to miss ‘em.

IN THE BAG
You only get 14 clubs to carry in that bag of yours, but nothing says you need to take the default selections. There are many different styles of play and course conditions that will compel you to rethink your club selection. Often times I find it appropriate to carry two drivers. A low lofted driver (8 degree) to cut through the wind as well as a high lofted driver (10.5 degree) allowing me to hit over the tops of trees/obstructions or get more carry with the wind at my back.

TRUST YOUR CADDY (MASTERING THE SHORT GAME)
You can shave many strokes with a strong short game, but you must trust your caddy. Your caddy has an eye for reading greens and he’s pretty good. There are many ways to make every putt, but once you learn the distances, you’ll be putting like a pro in no time.

ADVANTAGES OF SPONSORSHIPS
There are 11 different sponsorships to acquire equipment, apparel and accessories from over 14 authentic golf manufacturers. Play through with peak performance and you’ll be approached with offers in no time. Upon accepting their offer, take the signing bonus money they give you and proceed to the Pro Shop to purchase/outfit as many sponsored items as you can. For each sponsored item you are wearing at the completion of a PGA TOUR Season Tournament round, you will be issued bonus money. Remember, hold onto your old Tiger Woods 2002 and 2003 save files -- there might be a sponsorship waiting for you.

EARN YOUR TOUR CARD(S)
Tour cards increase the money you earn throughout gameplay. Earn these cards based solely on your game progress percentage. With each new tour card upgrade, your money will increase 100%.

INCREASE THE DIFFICULTY
After getting a grip on the basics and completing various games, up the difficulty. Making the course conditions more challenging, will not only hone your skills, but also get you more money. Playing the more difficult courses and setting the tee and pin locations to more challenging settings will get you more cash. HAVE FUN & BE UNIQUE
There is no right or wrong way to play Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 2004. Play whatever mode is most appealing to you. Of course, certain modes will earn you more cash, but those modes also take longer to complete. Outfit and accessorize your character however you desire.

UTILIZE ALL OF YOUR SHOT TYPES
We all know those “in-between” shots can be the most challenging in the game, but before you elect to take a 45% driver under the trees, cycle through your available shot types to check your options. Often times a full swing flop or punch will get you dead on the target. Master the new chip shot and it can be a deadly addition to your short game arsenal.
