After taking an extra year to bring the NBA franchise up to speed, 989 Sports is taking hoops to a whole new level with NBA ShootOut 2003. The gang at 989 has taken the time to add a number of features that are entirely new to the franchise. The new career mode will allow you to create a player and take him from the NBDL to the NBA Finals if you have what it takes to bang with the big boys.

A new practice mode will help you hit your shots from anywhere in the field or get your free-throw percentage up into the 90s. Create Dunk has made the transition to next-generation gaming. Now you are able to choreograph your personal hops and aerobatics worthy of a dunk contest title. Fast-paced NBA action, authentic NBA AI, player models, graphics, and new features will make NBA ShootOut 2003 a must-have hoops title. It is certainly the best rendition in the history of the franchise.

OFFENSE:
D-Pad or Left Analog Stick = move player.
Circle Button = shoot, X Button = pass.
Triangle Button = rebound.
Square Button = pivot and protect the ball, post player.
L1 Button = activate play calling.
L2 Button = icon passing.
R1 Button = turbo.
R2 Button = call for a pick.

STANDING, NO DRIBBLE:
Right Analog Stick Up = jab step forward.
Right Analog Stick Left or Right = jab step left or right.
Right Analog Stick Down = back pivot.
Right Analog Stick rotate clockwise = ball fake right.
Right Analog Stick rotate counter clockwise = ball fake left.

STANDING DRIBBLING:
Right Analog Stick Up = double crossover.
Right Analog Stick Left or Right = fake step left or right.
Right Analog Stick Down = behind the back dribble.
Right Analog Stick rotate clockwise = around the back right.
Right Analog Stick rotate counter clockwise = around the back left.

WALKING:
Right Analog Stick Up = double crossover.
Right Analog Stick Right = side step right.
Right Analog Stick Left = cross between legs.
Right Analog Stick rotate clockwise = around the back right.
Right Analog Stick rotate counter clockwise = around the back left.

RUNNING AND SPRINTING:
L1 + R1 + Circle Button = perform created dunk.
Right Analog Stick Up = lunging crossover.
Right Analog Stick Right = lunging side step right.

Right Analog Stick Down = hesitation dribble.
Right Analog Stick rotate clockwise = spin right.
Right Analog Stick rotate counter clockwise = spin left.

POST UP:
Square Button = get into post up.
Circle Button = shoot.
R1 + D-Pad or Left Analog Stick = back down.
Circle Button + D-Pad or Left Analog Stick Left or Right = spin out and shoot.
R1 Button + D-Pad or Left Analog Stick Left or Right = spin off defender.

DEFENSE:
D-Pad or Left Analog Stick = move player.

X Button = switch to defender closest to the ball.
